Polskie Nagrania "Muza" (official name since 2005: "Polskie Nagrania Sp. z o.o.") is a Polish record label based in Warsaw. It has produced records in many genres, including pop, rock, jazz, folk, classical, and children's. Until it was purchased by Warner Music Poland in 2015 for 1.9 million euros, the label was owned by the Polish government.
The label was founded in 1956 after the merger of the Muza vinyl record factory and the Polskie Nagrania record house (the history of the latter dates back to the interwar period). It also published music literature. In addition to its own vinyl record factory, it also used the Pronit and Veriton pressing plants.
In March 2010, the company declared bankruptcy. In April 2013, Polskie Nagrania sp. z o.o. was placed in liquidation bankruptcy due to failure to pay the awarded compensation to the heirs of Anna German.
On January 29, 2015, Polskie Nagrania was purchased by Warner Music Poland following the bankruptcy. The new owner purchased the company for PLN 8.1 million. The original recording tapes were transferred to the National Digital Archives.
In September 2017, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage began negotiations with Warner Music Poland on the purchase of Polskie Nagrania. The talks were held for several months and although at the end of December it seemed that the transaction would be finalized, the agreement could not be signed.
