Wilbur Dorsey "Buck" Clayton (November 12, 1911 - December 8, 1991) was an American jazz trumpeter, a leading member of Count Basie's "Old Testament" orchestra and a leader in mainstream-oriented jam session recordings in the 1950s. He was influenced by Louis Armstrong, who was first heard on Central Avenue's "Confessin That I Love You" as he walked past a storefront. Clayton worked closely with Li Jinhui, the father of Chinese popular music in Shanghai. His contributions helped change the history of music in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
